What is the name of your favorite polo pony and what is so special about them?
Iluso, he is a gelding out of the Ellerstina breeding program. He has played high goal polo all over the world – Argentina, England, and Florida. I’m most confident on the field when I’m playing because he can do everything and is a very comfortable and balanced horse. His temperament is what makes him so special, he can play 20 goal for a 10 goaler, and then peewee polo for a young kid the next day.
What is your greatest polo achievement?
Back to back college National championships for Westmont college in 2013 and 2014.
What is a hobby you have outside of polo?
Golf, surfing, traveling.
What countries have you played polo in?
Argentina, Canada, China, Chile, Dominican Republic and England, and I’ll be going to Australia in April.
What do you like most about Eldorado Polo Club?
The inclusivity, you have the fields, practice fields, track, stick n ball fields, stables, office, clubhouse, and tack/feed store all in one place. I can’t think of anywhere else in the world where everyone has all those facilities under one roof. It creates a level of camaraderie between all the teams and players that is very unique.
Who introduced you to polo and where did you begin playing?
My parents introduced me, and I started playing at Eldorado, Empire, and Santa Barbara polo clubs junior polo programs.
What is your favorite sports team?
What athlete (outside of the polo world) do you admire the most?
Kobe Bryant, and his work ethic.
If you could change one thing about your game, what would it be?
I would like to be more consistent through 6 chukkers.
If you could play with any players in the world, who would be on your team?
My brothers Wiley, Tony, and Hank.
