The Fish Creek Constitution 8 Goal closer – in front of another huge gathering - saw Sapa Polo (Igor Seyranov -1, Tom Schuerman/Erin Brittin, Jesse Bray 6, Jim Wright 3) going up against Antelope (Geoff Palmer, Grant Palmer, Santigo Trotz 4, Maco Llambias 4, Marcos Alberdi 4 – sub for inj Llambias in 5th).

In a game with little scoring in the first half, Antelope led by one at halftime by a count of 4 – 3. It would be the pronghorns last lead to end a period.

After trailing by two in the early fourth chukker, Sapa came back to tie Antelope going into the fifth at 6 – 6.

The problems continued for Antelope early in the fifth as Llambias went off his horse and left the game with a suspected broken arm. With Alberdi stepping in, Antelope seemed lost as Sapa scored three goals – to none for the pronghorns – and the count was 9 – 6 with one left in regulation. It was Sapa’s first lead after a period.

Scoring was split in the sixth chukker with one each to give the Fish Creek Constitution 8 Goal to Sapa Polo with a final score of 10 – 7.

For the champions, Wright scored six goals (five fouls including one penalty four) and Bray scored four times from the field.

For Antelope, Trotz counted three times (two penalty fours), Grant Palmer scored three on open goal awards, and Llambias scored one from the field.

Fish Creek patron Fred Mannix presented the Richard Roenisch bronzes to the winners and, on an afternoon presented by Bulleit Bourbon, the champions also received bottles of Bulleit Bourbon.

With his very balanced and influential play, Bray was selected as the MVP and Monje, play by Llambias in the fourth was deemed to be the Best Playing Pony.
